As a grateful student of Christian Science, I wish to give this testimony in return for the many testimonies in the periodicals that have helped me. At the time of the healing, my position kept me in Chicago, while my husband was employed in Detroit. A long-distance call summoned me to Detroit, where some well-meaning friends had taken my husband to a hospital. However, I called a Christian Science practitioner before leaving Chicago.

When I arrived, the doctor tried to prepare me for the worst, insisting that I send for my husband's relatives immediately. This I could not do, for it would seem as though I were accepting error's verdict. When I asked for permission to remove my husband from the hospital, the physician gasped in amazement, and insisted that I had no idea how ill my husband was. To mortal sense he had lost control of his body, and could barely talk.

The doctor thought it would be necessary to perform an operation on the brain and asked permission to send for a specialist. At the mention of a specialist, the strengthening thought came to me, My husband is in the hands of a specialist—Truth—and Christian Science will prove it, and I rejoiced. It seemed wise not to stir up antagonism about moving him, so I called the practitioner about the suggested operation. Firmly she declared: "Do not fear, 'the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword.' They won't need to operate."
