Many revelations of God's ever-presence and all-power have come to me through the study and application of Christian Science. Sickness has been dispelled by the true idea of Mind, through the understanding that "Life and intelligence are purely spiritual,—neither in nor of matter" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 14). Death has been vanquished by the use of God's law, as taught in Christian Science. My daughter, when a child of six years, had measles and double pneumonia. Immediately I asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner. My husband, who was not a Christian Scientist, insisted on calling in a doctor. When the doctor saw the child, he expressed the opinion that she would not pull through. Discarding the medicine which the doctor had left, my daughter and I went into another room, away from the rest of the family. For the next nine hours she lay there scarcely breathing. Suddenly, at three o'clock in the morning, her breathing became natural. When she awoke in the morning she was bright and happy. At nine o'clock the same day, when the doctor came and saw her sitting up in bed, he was amazed, because he had not expected to see her alive. In two days she was out of bed, as active as ever. The same child was quickly healed of diphtheria, chicken pox, and severe colds.

About three years ago my son fell from a sled, hitting the end of his spine. A lump formed and became very painful, so that he could not bend. Work was taken up by the same practitioner. At his place of employment it was said that Christian Science could not heal him this time, and that he had better consult a doctor. Lovingly but firmly this advice was refused. A little hole, no bigger than a pin point, opened and the lump drained. Within nine days, to the great surprise of his co-workers, he returned to his place of employment, completely healed.

While he attended public school, the school doctor notified my son to have his tonsils and adenoids removed at once. Instead of our following this advice, work was taken up in Christian Science. His tonsils and adenoids were not removed, and later the same doctor pronounced him all right. He was also healed of a serious case of grippe, and of earache, swollen glands, and an injury to a thumb, which was smashed between the doors of an elevator. Both my son and daughter were healed of other ills to which children seem subject. Headaches, sores, burns, heart trouble, influenza, and stomach trouble have all disappeared into their native nothingness when we have demonstrated the power of Truth.
