Christian Science has brought many blessings into my life, and I am indeed grateful for the truth of being, which is continually unfolding to me.

I was troubled with weak kidneys until my eighteenth year. During most of that time I was given every remedy of which my mother heard, but without relief. I was also taken to a medical clinic for treatment, but this, too, proved to be of no help. About that time the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, was brought to my mother's attention, and both she and I read it. Within eight months I was completely healed. After that I turned to the textbook for relief from every ill which manifested itself; materia medica was definitely left behind. But I had many false beliefs, and my spiritual progress was slow.

My two children grew to manhood and womanhood without the use of medicine. Outside of a very few Christian Science treatments, all their childhood ailments were overcome through my reading of the textbook. They also manifested the same kidney complaint that I had had; but at the ages of eleven and thirteen, through the reading of the textbook, and by applying its teachings, both were healed.
