I am giving this testimony in order to express my gratitude, in accordance with Psalm 107:1. When I came to Christian Science twelve years ago, the testimonies of healing again and again encouraged me to persevere in my search and struggle for Truth when the way seemed hard and rough. I should therefore like to help others with my testimony and share with them the blessings I myself have received.

When a young seeker, I heard the following words read at a service: "Remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt." The day I was able to come out of the land of Egypt with its plagues will always be remembered. These plagues had come upon me through unhappy conditions in the home of many years' standing. My body was plagued with illness of various sorts; my mind was oppressed by trouble and sorrow; every kind of lack weighed heavily upon us, and cold and unloving people often hurt us. Then one day I broke down, and my cry of distress was,

"Where shall I find help?" In Isaiah is the promise, "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." And so it was with me. In that very hour I was shown through divine inspiration how to pray understandingly, "O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles." And the light was there.
