I wish to express my gratitude for the help of Christian Science

I wish to express my gratitude for the help of Christian Science. A few years ago my sister, when about to board a streetcar, was struck by a passing motor. She was taken to a hospital, and I was called. A Christian Science practitioner began work for her at once. The only medical or surgical help she had during the experience was when several stitches were taken in a cut in her forehead. She had suffered from slight concussion, so her speech was not clear when I arrived. The use of one arm and both legs was impaired. She read the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly, as well as other Christian Science literature, while she was in the hospital.

Through Christian Science treatment my sister gained the use of her arms and legs again, and left the hospital in less than a week; and after a short time spent with relatives she came to my home. Within a month she was restored to normal health and useful activity.

An insurance doctor who examined her stated that she would not be allowed any compensation for a Christian Science practitioner's bill. When the insurance company settled, however, she was given compensation to pay a practitioner, a Christian Science nurse, and all her other expenses.
