Seeking and Finding

Today many are seeking for a clearer and truer understanding of actual substance. In home, school, and business, many are trying to find in their particular work greater opportunities for substantial progress. The problem, however, is the problem of the individual, and must be solved in the individual's own thinking, before improvement can be manifested in his outward activities. Human planning, education, and guidance may stimulate interest and enthusiasm in human affairs. But the finding of actual substance which leads to the solution of problems is left with the individual to work out and prove for himself.

This need not be so disheartening as some would believe. On the contrary, it opens the way for individual demonstration. Does not the great Master tell us specifically and clearly, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free," and further, that "he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened"?

Many today are happily seeking and finding the truth about substance through the study and application of Christian Science. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of this Science, has said in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." Undoubtedly the greatest human need is the need for understanding the Father-Mother God, and seeing our relation to God, the divine Mind.
