It is with a heart full of gratitude that I want to relate...
It is with a heart full of gratitude that I want to relate the blessings Christian Science has brought into my life. Some ten years ago I went to a Christian Science lecture of which a schoolfellow had told me, but at that time I understood very little of it. About two years later I was in a terrible state of mental darkness and was suffering from frequent spells of depression, for I believed evil to be more powerful than good. One Wednesday evening I felt an urge to go to a Christian Science testimony meeting. I remember that I was arguing with myself all the way to church as to why I was going and what I expected to find there, but I went. During the whole service I felt an atmosphere of peace surrounding me, and from that day on I was slowly lifted out of darkness through the growing understanding of the allness of good. The spells of depression were finally overcome through the selfless help of a practitioner.
I began the study of our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and soon afterwards my mother and I observed that three troubles from which I had been suffering for many years had completely disappeared; inflammation of the eyes, chronic nasal catarrh, and frequently recurring headaches. I had had treatment from specialists for several years. They had even taken out part of the bone in my nose, but my condition did not improve. Later, when the doctors had declared that they were unable to do anything more for me, I received some temporary alleviation through homeopathic treatment, but my complete healing came through Christian Science. I have also experienced healings of appendicitis, grippe, colds, and a swollen ankle. In the last case I wrote to my mother for help, and the healing was almost immediate.
Numerous other problems have been solved whenever I have earnestly turned to God. Several times the problem of supply has worried me, but through the help of a practitioner all my needs were soon met—sometimes in quite an unexpected way.
