In a recent issue of the Peoria Star there appeared a picture of the newly elected President of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. This picture carried the title, "New Leader of Christian Science." The new President is elected to serve for a period of one year, but he is not the Leader of the Christian Science movement. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, is known and acknowledged by Christian Scientists as their one and only Leader.

In the Manual of The Mother Church, Article XXII, Section 2, under the heading "A Member not a Leader," occurs the following statement: "A member of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Mass., shall not be called Leader by members of this church, when this term is used in connection with Christian Science."
