I began the study of Christian Science at a time of great need, when a loved one had passed on, and it seemed necessary for me to lay hold of something that would satisfy the yearning to understand life and its ultimate aim. Christian Science has completely satisfied this desire and has brought into my experience a large measure of peace and of mental satisfaction, answering the many questions that had been presenting themselves to me over a period of many years.

The physical healings have also been many, as I have studied this teaching and tried to utilize its truths. On page 249 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy we read, "Let us accept Science, relinquish all theories based on sense-testimony, give up imperfect models and illusive ideals; and so let us have one God, one Mind, and that one perfect, producing His own models of excellence." As this rule has been followed, physical benefits have been experienced; also greater mental freedom and spiritual uplifting.

The healing of a nervous breakdown came with the acceptance of the truth that man "coexists with God" (ibid., p. 266). This healing was not accomplished quickly, but I am confident that it was this trial which brought home to me the necessity of transforming my thinking.
