For a long time I have wanted to testify to the healing...
For a long time I have wanted to testify to the healing power of Truth as taught in Science and Health.
When I first heard of Christian Science I was suffering from a bad nervous breakdown. I had been to many doctors, including a hypnotist, and was like the woman in the Bible who "had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse." Then I heard of Christian Science and went to one or two practitioners, but could not seem to get my healing. At last I was led to one who was so Christlike in his love, humility, and patience that my healing came.
Later, through the same loving practitioner's work, I was brought back from death. When attempting to enter a train I fainted and fell. My head was severely injured, and the train went over my foot. I was taken to a hospital as dead. Work in Christian Science was taken up. My head healed in three days, and I never lapsed into unconsciousness again; also I had only slight concussion, with no aftereffects. The hospital authorities could not understand why I did not die, since the shock, according to mortal sense, was enough to have killed me, without any other complications.
