Some years ago I learned of Christian Science through the help which an aunt received from a practitioner, after a noted specialist had told her that medical science could not cure her. He said that the X-ray examination showed that she did not have a sound organ in her body. Other doctors in her home city had told her they could do nothing more for her, and had advised a change of climate. She was in a health resort and seemed about to pass on when she asked for a practitioner and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Within a week, people at the place where she was stopping were astonished at the change in her. In less than three weeks she came home. To me it seemed almost too wonderful to be true, but I could not doubt its truth, for my aunt was a living proof to me. While she was talking to me about her healing and about Mrs. Eddy, I felt a load of fear lifted from me.
A few days after my aunt came home. I was healed instantaneously of a constant pain in my chest, through her realization of the truth. I had experienced this pain for three years. At times it would be so severe that I would have to loosen my clothes and lie down until I felt easier. I could not bear anything to touch me. Very often I would lie awake all night holding everything away from me. I had never been to a doctor to have this diagnosed. However, after I learned something of Christian Science I learned that this error was nameless—nothing real. I have been healed of many other physical ailments, as well as of many faults, through Christian Science. Indeed, I am being healed every day of wrong thinking and have much for which to be grateful.
I am thankful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the good that I have received through her teachings and for the good the world is receiving; for the literature; and for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church. I am grateful to have gained a better understanding of the Bible and of Christ Jesus' teachings through the study of Christian
