Signs of the Times

Topic: Thanksgiving

[J. L. Newland, in the Frederick Leader, Oklahoma]

There is always something to rejoice about if we look for it. . . . If we can find no reason for rejoicing, then we have a dead faith. Happiness comes from a realization of good in our lives. If we know no good, then it must be that we have lost our faith in God, who is infinite good.

One does not have to change his vocation in life, nor pause in his daily round of duties to "pray without ceasing"—unless he is doing something wrong. If we find ourselves engaged in anything over which we cannot "say grace," we may be sure we are going wrong.
