[Original testimony in German]
Out of deep gratitude I feel it my duty to give a testimony
Out of deep gratitude I feel it my duty to give a testimony. About nine years ago a neighbor told me of Christian Science at a time when I was feeling very lonely and deserted. for all my children had emigrated to America. I had sought consolation in my religion, but found none. My neighbor told me that she knew a woman who looked radiantly happy, and that it was Christian Science which had made her so. What was more natural than that I, too, should become interested in this Science and begin to read its literature? Through this reading I soon felt that I had found the truth for which I had unconsciously been yearning for a long time. I then attended the Christian Science church services in the vicinity, quickly becoming happy and joyous, and was privileged to experience glorious healings of sickness and other proofs of the ever-present power of God. I was instantaneously healed of a hernia, which had caused me much pain.
Indeed, God is a help in all our distresses, but we must, understand Him and learn to trust Him in all circumstances. Through the understanding of the nature of God which we gradually gain through reading and study, we can overcome every inharmonious condition and be joyous and comforted. The struggle with the false is often not easy, but the knowledge that God is All-in-all brings victory. From the bottom of my heart I am grateful to all the kind friends who have helped me to find the truth and to apply it. I shall endeavor daily to be obedient to the tenet given us by our beloved Leader. .Mrs. Eddy, on page 497 of our textbook. Science and Health: "And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; to do unto others awe would have them do unto us; and to be merciful, just, and pure."—(Mrs.) Johanna Zülle-Koller, Buchen bei Staad, Canton St. Gallen, Switzerland.
