Muncie, Indiana (First Church).—Dedication of First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Muncie, was held at the regular morning service on Sunday, November 28, 1937. The ... church edifice is located at Charles and Liberty Streets, fronting Charles Street.

The First Reader read the dedication notice and a brief historical sketch. In the sketch it was told that in 1892 ... Christian Science was first brought to notice in Muncie. A small group of persons soon banded themselves together to hold Christian Science services; and in August, 1899, a society was organized, which step resulted the following November in the organization of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Muncie.

In September, 1927, it was decided to erect the present church edifice. During the building period, services were held in Beth E1 Temple. At sunrise, on May 25, 1929, the cornerstone was laid, and the first church service was held in the Sunday school room on March 16, 1930. The congregation moved to the completed auditorium Wednesday evening, October 3, 1934. Christian Science churches are not dedicated until free of debt. This goal having been attained, the new structure was dedicated.—Muncie Evening Press.
