When I took up the study of Christian Science my outlook...
When I took up the study of Christian Science my outlook on life was a very confused and fearful one; a great sorrow had come to me and life did not appear to be worth living. I told the practitioner who was working for me that I wished I could go away from it all. Her answer was, "You cannot run away from error; you must overcome it, see its nothingness." That statement has helped me many times in working out other problems. How thankful I am that I now understand that working out a problem in Christian Science means looking to God for the right idea that heals the erroneous belief of sin, sickness, sorrow, or death.
I have been healed of stomach trouble, colds, burns, and many other physical ills, and all have been overcome very quickly through Christian Science treatment. My son has been healed of influenza and boils, and was healed of blood poisoning at a Christian Science lecture. Another demonstration for which I am very grateful was the healing of my son's broken arm while he was away at school. He refused medical aid, and through his own understanding of this Science as he had been taught in the Christian Science Sunday School he was able to bring about his own healing and was not absent from any of his classes.
I cannot find words to express the gratitude I feel for having had the privilege of serving as an Associate in The Christian Science Benevolent Association, at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. It was there I first experienced the joy that comes from giving and serving. The love and understanding that exist at the Sanatorium among the officials, guests, and associates is wonderful and of great help to all.
