What a wonderful sense of peace and harmony one...
What a wonderful sense of peace and harmony one receives in the study and pursuit of Christian Science! Living its rules by holding oneself subservient to the laws of God, as is so plainly taught in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, one begins to see manifest the power of these laws. Inharmony or error disappears, and omnipotent, divine Love is felt, and what we call healing takes place. What a deep feeling of gratitude we have then for the true concept of God's laws and of their continual presence and power! Of many healings, a few stand out.
Many years ago, when I was a child, my mother, who had suffered a long time with lumbago and quinsy sore throat, was instantaneously healed through the loving efforts of a practitioner. I saw these healings and had the privilege of entering the Christian Science Sunday School. I was sixteen at the time, and had suffered many years from a malarial condition, but through what I learned in the Sunday school this fell away, and some time later when I thought of it I found I had been healed without realizing it.
A recent healing of a broken ankle was accomplished by steadfastly refusing to let in the fear of a broken law and holding fast to the law of Truth. It is stated on page 381 of Science and Health: "When infringing some supposed law, you say that there is danger. This fear is the danger and induces the physical effects."
