Consecration

We read of Samuel that the Lord was with him,
Nor let the words he spake fall to the ground.
Oh, what a wealth of present inspiration
In this brief, simple message may be found.
Words cannot fall to earth which, winged by Spirit,
Uplift the hearts of men to seek their God.
Who lets his conversation dwell in heaven
Will never find it buried 'neath the sod.
Who silences the clamor of the senses,
To listen, as did Samuel of old,
Like him will find his earth weights disappearing,
And speak in words that shine like minted gold.
