Natural science is the branch of human knowledge which deals directly with natural objects, the substances composing them, and the phenomena exhibited by them. Christian Science, as the name implies, is the Science of Christianity, or the truth about God and man as taught and demonstrated by Christ Jesus.

Christ Jesus set aside the so-called laws of nature many times in his teaching and healing, and he did it by appealing to a law that is above any material law. Christian Science starts with God, whom it declares to be divine Principle.

Mary Baker Eddy, its Discoverer and Founder, defines Christian Science thus: "The law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony" (Rudimental Divine Science, p. 1). The contributor to your newspaper would hardly say that natural science does as much.
