Christian Science came into our family when I was a young girl, and I was blessed with having some wonderful years in the Sunday school. From the first I was able to accept with no reservations everything that Mrs. Eddy said. Even when I was a child, the practical proof of her teaching was to me the most convincing argument that could exist.
With what I learned in Sunday school I was able to make demonstrations from the very first, and it was several years before it was necessary to have help from a practitioner. I have been healed of tonsillitis, colds, headaches, fevers, cuts, bruises, ptomaine poisoning, sprained fingers, pneumonia, and financial difficulties.
A few years ago, while I was living in Cuba, a problem presented itself which medical science would have said required surgery. The healing seemed slow, as most of my healings had been instantaneous, but in less than a month I was completely healed through the work of a practitioner. Words cannot describe the gratitude that my husband and I felt for our growth during the experience. Just before the healing took place it seemed that I was passing on, and my husband was unable to reach the practitioner. He sat with me from five o'clock in the afternoon until midnight declaring the truth and reading to me, although most of the time I was not conscious. After driving all fear from his thought and feeling certain of a perfect God, perfect man, and perfect universe, he retired, and at two o'clock in the morning I awakened healed. The next day I arose and walked down five flights of stairs before the elevator started running. Never has there been a recurrence of the difficulty, and that was over eight years ago.
