Peter had enjoyed his day. Having invited all his friends to his party, he was bubbling over with the joy that comes from making others happy.

All the guests had gone home, except Tommy; and as he lived some miles away, Peter's mother had invited him to spend the night at her home.

What fun it was for the two boys to fix another bed; and now, tucked under their warn blankets, what pleasure they found in talking about their own affairs!
