Comfort Ye

Lord , teach us now to comfort one another
As Thou dost comfort us, that so we may
Encourage, cheer, and help each one his brother,
And follow in our Master's steps today.

For Christ has come to wake us from our sleeping,
From fear of death, of sorrow and its power;
Though heaviness may bring a night of weeping,
Joy cometh in the radiant morning hour.

Then let us share our joy, that in so doing
All that we have may ripen and increase.
Now is the harvest, now comes sweet renewing;
The Comforter brings now his gift of peace.
