In the Jersey Observer of July 17 there appeared an article headed "Medicine Man Wins Tribute from Science."

In order to correct the impression that the practice of Christian Science Mind-healing can be explained from the basis of psychiatry, which is concerned with the activity of the human mind, kindly allow me space in your valued paper to state that Christian Science, discovered and established by Mary Baker Eddy, is the law of God which Christ Jesus came into the world to expound and prove during his brief period of ministry. The First Commandment of the Hebrew Decalogue, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me," Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 340), "bases the Science of being."

As understood and practiced by its adherents, Christian Science, which is established on a divinely metaphysical basis, has in countless instances successfully healed physical diseases and those designated as mental, and has reformed the sinner by correcting wrong thinking through the process of spiritually mental regeneration, or, as the Apostle Paul has expressed it, "by the renewing of your mind."
