Frankincense and Myrrh

We say we have no gold to give—
Unless to us it first be given;
That lack denies our right to live,
Although we've worked and prayed and striven.

But have we brought the richer gifts
Of fragrant frankincense and myrrh?
Of gratitude, which heals and lifts,
Forgiveness shown to those who err?

Then let us give of loving thought,
Forgive with gracious word and deed,
Thanks give that error counts as naught;
Then Love will meet our every need.
