All through early girlhood I longed to find a religion that would give me an anchor in life. At the time of the passing on of an elder sister I had a firm belief that had we known how to pray aright, she would have been spared. I endeavored to pray at that time, but found only confusion in my thought. Shortly after this I was invited by friends to attend a Christian Science service, which was being held in a hall in the small town in which I lived. The service brought me much peace, and I felt this was the religion I had been seeking. Some little time after this I came to live in California, where I began attending Christian Science services regularly.

My first healing was of poisoning contracted while on a mountain hike. When I first called on the practitioner I told her I knew very little of Christian Science. She asked me if I believed in God. Upon receiving an affirmative reply she gave me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, to read while she treated me. I was healed instantaneously, and removed from my face the veil which I had worn to cover the condition. In this healing the eruptions not only disappeared but the skin was improved beyond its normal state. This healing took place over eighteen years ago, and since that time I have had many beautiful proofs of God's love and protection.

I have been placed in a most beneficial situation in the business world through the application of this Science—the law of good. We have been beautifully sustained and cared for during the years of the so-called depression, having actually proved many times that God can supply a table in the wilderness. My husband was saved from serious results of an automobile accident, by the never-failing truth that God is our Life. He had been hurled out through the front door of the sedan, but he picked himself up fifty feet away in an olive orchard unhurt.
