The Latter Days

The fulfillment of Biblical prophecy, as recorded in the Old and New Testaments, can be traced in world history up to the happenings of the present eventful era.

The advent and earthly career of Christ Jesus were in complete accord with the Messianic prophecies recorded in the Old Testament. The teachings of the great Way-shower brought to humanity the revelation of Truth which, as he himself declared, laid the ax at the root of all evil, showing the conflict between error and truth, between the material sense of existence and the spiritual consciousness of being, the conflict which is acutely apparent in our day. Metaphorically speaking, the "ax" was the power of spiritual understanding which enabled Jesus to heal sin, disease, and death, to prove in all directions the all-power and all-presence of God, good, and the nothingness of evil. The record of his wondrous words and works has come down the centuries, and today, in the midst of a fear-stricken world, his tender entreaty still calls, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Jesus foresaw, however, the appearing of a further and fuller interpretation of all that he had taught and practiced. He foretold also the consequent commotion as the carnal mind, with its sum total of evil, probed to its depths, approached its final destruction. These prophecies, uttered nearly two thousand years ago, predicted occurrences of vital import to all mankind.
