Prayers Beautifully Answered

[Written Especially for Young People]

Heading a feature on the Woman's Page in a daily newspaper were the words, "What Prayer of Yours Was Beautifully Answered?" Students of Christian Science need not meditate long to answer this question. Each Christian Scientist, whether child, man, or woman, has had proof of God's instant response to prayer.

A Christian Scientist who had the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School for a number of years greatly cherishes one answer. She had the opportunity of attending a university and also a cultural school, but during these years she was never entirely away from some member of her family. She could go home each week-end, and could see a sister almost any time she wished.

One day, friends of her mother invited her to accompany them to a winter resort. The young student was delighted, and after securing the consent of her parents made ready for the trip. A couple of days before they were to start, the Christian Scientist received word that her friends would be delayed a day, but if she wished she could go on, and they would meet her at the resort. At first thought the student believed it wise to wait. She then called on an experienced Christian Scientist, and after their considering the situation it was decided that she should go right ahead. She was all prepared for the journey, and her going forward would prove to be an opportunity for her to demonstrate that God was with her, no matter where she went. She was reminded of the Psalmist's words, "If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there."
