Dagen

Dagen of April 20 contains a critical appraisal of the Oxford group movement, in which a statement by an American professor on the subject is quoted. The professor has taken the opportunity to designate Christian Science as a "bloodless, Christless, salvationless" religion; but at the same time he admits that it has wrought "remarkably changed lives with many of its adherents."

A religion which has such an effect on its adherents, and which, besides, follows Jesus' commandment of healing the sick, can hardly be called "Christless" and "salvationless."

When Jesus was asked what is most important in religion he answered, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind," and, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

It is desirable that all the different groups within the Christian church realize that, especially in our days, they have the greatest interest in working in harmony for that which Jesus considered most important.
