Oneness

Man constantly reflects or expresses God. That is the reason for his being. If God were not expressed He would be without entity. Hence, man is the evidence that God is. "Principle and its idea is one, and this one is God, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent Being, and His reflection is man and the universe" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 465).

The revelation of man's oneness with God, Principle, man's reflection of omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent Being, is the most joyful news ever given to the world. It is the essence of the gospel, or good news, so continuously preached by Jesus. His statement, "I and my Father are one," is the great message for us today. "Principle and its idea is one;" "Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine." All that the Father hath is ours, because spiritual man reflects and expresses the Father, and nothing else.

Man is the manifestation of all that the Father is, all the wisdom, love, and intelligence of Principle. " 'I and my Father are one,'—that is, one in quality, not in quantity. As a drop of water is one with the ocean, a ray of light one with the sun, even so God and man, Father and son, are one in being" (Message to The Mother Church for 1902 by Mrs. Eddy, p. 12).
