I should like to relate my wonderful healing of eczema

I should like to relate my wonderful healing of eczema. I suddenly became ill with it while living with a relative who had long been confined to her bed following a serious operation. According to the physician's opinion, the healing would take more than six months. The eczema started on one hand, then spread over my whole body, and covered my face and hands. Various salves were prescribed, but my condition grew worse. The doctor felt that by all means I should be in a hospital under medical supervision, but since there was no vacancy there, I was obliged to return home.

Just at that time a Christian Science practitioner came to our home to call on my relative. I was religiously inclined and had read the New Testament several times. I had heard little of Christian Science. When the practitioner saw me quite covered with bandages, and with my face dreadfully disfigured, she did not even ask for my relative, but first offered me spiritual help, explaining to me the basis of Christian Science and the way in which one can be healed through its help. She gave me some of our literature to read, and I asked her to treat me. I clung to the thought that nothing but the one Physician, God, Spirit, could help me. I held to this thought the whole night, reading the New Testament and the literature which I had received from the practitioner.

The next morning I was considerably better; the eczema had completely disappeared from my face, which was as clear as before the disease began, so that the nurse who was taking care of me exclaimed with surprise when she saw such a change. In five days I was completely well, instead of in six months as the doctor had predicted.
