It is with the highest esteem for the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, and the most profound gratitude for the healing efficacy of her teachings that I add my testimony to the many thousands that have already been given. I have been a student of Christian Science for more than seventeen years, and have had many healings. Five years ago I was attacked with a severe case of nausea and a rushing of blood to the head. This caused an intense sense of heat over the body, which became almost unbearable. The condition grew worse, in spite of the fact that a practitioner was treating me in Christian Science.

After a period of two or three weeks another physical condition appeared, which was diagnosed as fibroid tumor. The fear of the disease or an operation brought on a mental condition which doctors call dementia. During this experience I became very fearful, and refused to take food except at intervals during a period of four months. My body became emaciated and the bones began to protrude. Friends and relatives thought my case a hopeless one.

A son came from a western city and insisted that I return with him. When we reached our destination, and as I was being helped off the train, a daughter, who was waiting at the station, scarcely recognized me. Continued help was given by a practitioner in the West, and although the healing seemed slow the experience proved to be nothing less than a purifying process, for "God is a consuming fire," as Mrs. Eddy says on page 151 of "Miscellaneous Writings."
