It is with a feeling of overwhelming gratitude that I offer this testimony as to the demonstrability of Christian Science.

My mother became interested in this new-old religion twenty-three years ago, and I entered the Sunday school at the age of two and a half, and attended regularly until I graduated. During that time I was healed of double pneumonia, abscessed ears, ptomaine poisoning, a severe case of otitis media, pinkeye, ringworm, greatly enlarged tonsils, threatened mastoid trouble, sprains, cuts, and many other difficulties too numerous to mention. I was helped and protected in my schoolwork, and after graduation I found suitable employment and have worked seven years in harmonious surroundings. At one time I was notified that because I refused to go to another city on a very small salary, my services were no longer needed. Three days later, just thirty minutes before my time was up, I was told to report to another department in the same company the following morning. This was accomplished through my knowing that I was not working for man, but God; that I could not be out of my proper place for an instant, and that my supply came directly from Him.

We learn in Christian Science that it is necessary not only to affirm the truth, but to act accordingly. Recently I turned my ankle severely, and the pain seemed intense. I sat on a low wall and declared the truth for a few moments, and found that I was tempted to call a cab or wait for a neighbor to take me home. The "still small voice" reasoned that if I believed the truth I was uttering, why didn't I keep on my way? I rose instantly and continued on my way without discomfort. The next evening I noticed a large lump behind the ankle bone. Fear came, but was banished, and I continued my housecleaning in addition to my regular occupation. I do not know when the lump vanished.
