About four years ago, through the advice of a friend, I visited a Christian Science practitioner in order to overcome fear for a young daughter who had been seriously ill. I began to read Science and Health, and with the guidance of the practitioner I learned to study the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly. Our daughter, then three years of age, entered Sunday school, and I asked for my letter of dismissal from a Protestant church. The little girl has been healed of a badly crushed thumb and of measles, the latter disappearing in three days without a convalescent period. This meant much to me, knowing that her school chums were confined for weeks. About two years ago she broke her collar bone. I telephoned for help and all pain left, although her shoulder sagged. We decided to have a surgeon strap it in place, and I am happy to say that the X-ray picture showed complete knitting before the surgeon strapped it.
We have been protected during the so-called depression. Divine Love surely has pointed the way for meeting our human needs. I have experienced a healing of an annoying skin eruption on my face and neck. I felt that I had been poisoned by sea food until a friend reminded me of the error of believing food to have power. When I refused to nurse the difficulty or bow down to it any longer, the eruption quickly disappeared.
Membership in The Mother Church and a branch church and the joy of serving the Cause of Christian Science fill me with gratitude. I am grateful for the consecrated and unselfish practitioners, also for the literature and the peace it brings daily.—(Mrs.) Anne F. Cannon, Atlanta, Georgia.
