When I first came to Christian Science I was suffering...
When I first came to Christian Science I was suffering from what the doctors called gallstones, and was quickly and permanently cured through reading the authorized literature. Since that time, through the help of practitioners and the continued study of the Bible and Science and Health, I have been healed of rheumatism, heart trouble, indigestion, grippe, severe headaches, and fatigue, and have had teeth extracted without pain or bad aftereffects.
The availability of God's law, as revealed in Christian Science, has been proved to me in many instances, in health and happiness, in guidance, protection, and peace. Through the understanding that man "has not a single quality underived from Deity," as Mrs. Eddy states (Science and Health, p. 475), I have overcome many unlovely traits, such as condemnation, sensitiveness, self-will, self-pity, and fear.
Since my first healing, some seventeen years ago, I have never needed a physician, for our Father-Mother God has been and is my only healer. I sincerely appreciate our literature, also the privilege of being a class-taught student and a member of The Mother Church. Words fail to express my gratitude for this wonderful revelation given to us by our revered Leader. My one desire is so to live that I may be worthy of the name "Christian Scientist."
