Many years ago I heard of Christian Science through my sister, who wrote urging me to attend one of the church meetings. Never having heard of this Science before, I thought it was just a new fad of hers; however, I attended a Wednesday evening meeting to please her. Not having had any religious training, I knew nothing of the Bible and very little about God, yet I knew I was hearing the truth when readings from Science and Health were given from the desk. This led to my buying a copy of both the Bible and Science and Health, and studying them for a while. But discouragement crept in because I seemed unable to understand them, and they were laid aside, with the thought, however, that I could never believe in any religion but Christian Science.

A number of years went by and I became very ill with what was termed nervous prostration, and was confined to bed for about three months without any improvement. Suddenly, one morning, without any previous thought about it, I said, "I am tired of doctors, I am going to try God." It seems to me now that just that minute I was healed, even before I reached a practitioner. This healing took place about four years ago, and since then God has been my Physician.

I was healed of a severe hemorrhage in two hours, also of a severe attack of ptomaine poisoning in an hour after the practitioner was called.
