It is with great joy and much gratitude that I bear witness to the healing efficacy of Christian Science. I did not take up this study for physical healing; I was attracted to it by the peace and harmony I saw come into another home in which the mother and children were studying this beautiful Science. I had studied but a short time when I received two outstanding healings, one of a chronic complaint of six years' standing; the other was the laying aside of glasses which I had worn almost constantly for fifteen years. These healings took place about eleven years ago through the reading of the Christian Science textbook, and I am most grateful that they have been permanent. We are more grateful, however, for the spiritual understanding we are gaining through our study of Christian Science in conjunction with the Bible.

We find Christian Science indispensable in our home. With four children to rear I do not know what I should do without it. About four years ago, soon after our baby boy was born, his two little sisters, then four and five years of age, had what seemed to be whooping cough. The baby began coughing also, and it seemed quite serious with him and one of the girls. When our son was about a week old and the three children were in great need of healing, I was left alone with them for a short time one evening. A sense of self-pity seemed to overwhelm me and I was seized with terrific fear that one and perhaps two of the children would pass on. With a prayer for divine help I opened our textbook to Mrs. Eddy's admonition on page 197, "We should master fear, instead of cultivating it." This enabled me to rise above the fear, and the children were soon well.

My husband had a beautiful healing several years ago. He was painting a house and fell from the ladder onto the cement steps, dislocating one of his ankles and breaking a small bone in it. He immediately asked for help from a practitioner, and although he was unable to use his foot that evening, we read aloud from the textbook and he had the treatment continued during that night. The next morning he was up and ready for work at the usual hour and was able to wear his shoe with comfort. No human hand adjusted the bones, but his foot has been entirely normal ever since.
