It is argued by some that there are fewer women than men of international fame because it is only of comparatively recent years that women have had the same opportunities as men. There may be some justice in that, but those who contend that this is only part of the explanation are on firmer ground. The contention that women have not the intellect to compete with men can be put aside as not worth considering. . . .

There may be some significance, too, in the fact that of the women leaders who come readily to mind, three of them have devoted their lives to religion and have become leaders in that sphere. . . .
