I feel that the time has arrived for me to send in my testimony of gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing, but because in the orthodox church I did not find what my heart craved. I have had healings of chapped hands, colds, influenza, abscess in the head, and pneumonia. The healing of pneumonia took place in just one hour after a Christian Science practitioner was asked for help. I have also been healed of heart trouble, and that in my seventy-second year. Two brothers and two sisters had previously passed on with that trouble under materia medica. My husband was healed in four days' treatment of chronic bronchitis of years' standing, after being pronounced incurable by three doctors. He was also healed of a very bad case of oak poisoning in one treatment, and of supposedly inherited heart trouble which he had had for years. I have been healed of grief at the passing on of loved ones.
I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church, also a branch church, and for the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school; grateful for having had the opportunity of serving as librarian six years in a Christian Science Reading Room; for class instruction; for our literature, for every activity of Truth. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christ Jesus, and for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, since only through her consecrated life am I learning more about God and man and their relation to each other. I am grateful to all who have so lovingly helped me to gain a better understanding of this saving truth.
(Mrs.) Mary E. Hawley, Eugene, Oregon.
