I suffered from colitis for two years, and even after an operation the same symptoms occurred. Most of the trouble was attributed to lifelong constipation. After medical treatment three times each week for one year following the operation, with no results, I turned to the marvelous volume, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Just reading the first chapter, on Prayer, over and over would relieve me of an acute spell when the doctor said there was nothing he could do. Finally I decided to ask the aid of a Christian Science practitioner, and was entirely healed of the constipation. The demonstrations that she helped me to make in a few months were almost miraculous.

Our child had been under the care of the best baby specialists in Chicago and Los Angeles for a severe form of skin disease. After using light treatments, sun baths, diets, and ointments without results, I found that the child had had so little to eat that she was starving. The only other means medical science could offer was an expensive and trying food test injected in arms and back. A specialist in Los Angeles told me that he would rather have me try Christian Science than tortune the child. The little girl had suffered from babyhood until she was past five years of age. Then after two treatments by a practitioner she was completely healed. Today she eats anything put before her.

Due to these demonstrations my husband became interested in this beautiful study. He secured a very fine position, and his faith in God and understanding of the Bible have been greatly helped by this same practitioner. In a short time we have proved that Christian Science helps one to overcome illness, fear, and lack.
