For years I had been an active church member and often pondered the teachings and works of Christ Jesus, and wondered why, as his followers, we were not doing, in some measure at least, the works that he did. Had he not said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also"? Because so many of my questions were not answered I began to feel dissatisfied with the teachings of my church, though still remaining an active member.
About this time a friend lent me a copy of the Christian Science textbook. I am grateful every day for the peace and joy that have come to me through the study of this textbook. I am grateful for my early religious training. Christian Science has taken nothing good from it, but rather has increased my hope and faith. This Science has answered all of my questions.
Christian Science has been put to the test and proved demonstrable many times in our home. When we were very young students our son was healed of scarlet fever. In accordance with health laws, a physician was called to diagnose the case and report it. I am grateful for the overcoming at this time of the thought of contagion, when so many friends expressed the fear that our other son would contract the disease.
