For some time I have wished to express my deep gratitude...
For some time I have wished to express my deep gratitude for the many blessings that have come into my life through the study and application of Christian Science.
In the winter of 1923 I was healed of an abscess in one of my ears, from which I had suffered periodically since childhood, but from which, under medical treatment, I had obtained no permanent relief. I asked a Christian Science practitioner to take up work for me. All pain disappeared after the first treatment. Being confined to my room for several days, I read Science and Health continually. I shall never forget how clear and beautiful it became to me as I read, particularly the chapter on Prayer.
A few days later I went to the Sanatorium of The Christian Science Benevolent Association at Boston, Massachusetts, where, after a week's stay, I was completely healed of the ear trouble. Deafness which had accompanied it was overcome when I had been at the Sanatorium only three days. I gained much from my stay there, and feel particularly grateful that my very first healing in Christian Science occurred while I was a guest at that beautiful place, where love and harmony prevail.
