The Guest at the Door

[Written Especially for Children]

What happy preparations we make when we know that a friend whom we love very much is coming to stay as a guest in our home! The guest chamber is made ready with loving care for his comfort, and the children plan happy little surprises so as to give the visitor as good a time as possible.

When the guest arrives he does not have to stand at the door and knock to be let in; for the door is already open, and we are standing at it watching eagerly to run out and bring him in.

We are told in the Bible that the Christ says to us all, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him." Our consciousness may be likened to the guest chamber, and it is at this door that Christ, Truth, knocks to come in.
