"Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;...

"Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." It is over twenty years since I had my first glimpse of what this message really means. From early childhood I had been a sufferer from a serious stomach trouble, and although having help in materia medica I had been able to receive only temporary relief. While living in a distant city I had a very severe attack of this trouble, and as all medical experiments had failed I decided to try Christian Science. A practitioner was called in and the work taken up. In a short time I dropped off into a quiet sleep. The healing took place at that first treatment and was permanent. Before this experience I scoffed at Christian Science, but it was through my willingness to seek "first the kingdom of God" that I obtained my healing. It is through this same understanding that I was able to overcome the tobacco habit. I am very grateful that I was willing to take this step, because it has been only through my reliance on this wonderful truth as taught us by our Leader in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," that I have been able to meet the many problems that have come to me.

I am grateful for class instruction and for the loving, wise counsel that is always available. I am also grateful for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and for having a part in church activities.
