In this column on a few occasions it has been possible to point out the real nature of some paper or document that has been in circulation among Christian Scientists. This Item is written to call attention to one such bearing the title, "Hints on Healing." It has been widely advertised as a most helpful article on Christian Science, and it has been represented that Christian Scientists serving in official positions in branch churches have accepted it as genuine. It is not authorized Christian Science literature. Its true history is as follows:

Its author was at one time assistant pastor of The Mother Church in Boston and was connected with The Christian Science Publishing Society, but his official connection with the movement was terminated. Thereafter he began a publishing enterprise on his own responsibility, and the article in question was produced as a part of that enterprise.

This incident again testifies to the advisability of investigating the authenticity of writings on Christian Science.
