For many years before Christian Science came to my attention I believed myself to be peculiarly susceptible to colds, for I suffered from very severe and very frequent ones in both summer and winter; and naturally I entertained all the usual fearful thoughts about catching them. No material remedy gave me any relief when a cold once set in, and on each occasion I went through several weeks of misery.

When I first turned to Christian Science for help it was for another difficulty, but during the course of my study I suddenly discovered that I was not having colds. The fear had been removed when I woke to the realization that inharmony has no part in God's plan, since "God lovingly governs all" (Science and Health, p. 412). What a relief no longer to be filled with anxiety, and to know that only God's law of good has power over His reflection, man!

Several years later a greater test came when I was suddenly stricken with erysipelas. This was healed so quickly through the loving help of a practitioner that I lost only two days from my work, and was at no time confined to bed. Equally great was the blessing of the protection which enveloped not only me, but those with whom I had been daily in contact.
