My gratitude is deep that I have found the truth, Christian Science, and have been led to the study of the Bible and our beloved textbook. When a dear one was given up by the doctors we turned reluctantly, and as a last resource, to Christian Science because we were told that it heals. A practitioner was asked to help, and I was privileged to be present when she explained the truth. The joy and wonder which came to me on hearing those first statements brought a radiance and serenity to my thought which lasted for several days. This vision of the mountain tops, this foretaste of the "perfect day," is still cherished as the most glorious of my life. Many dark days since have been cheered by the joy of that early glimpse.
My sole desire was to help this dear one, and I was told to read Science and Health to her as much as possible. As a result of steady reading and rejoicing, physical healings were quickly apparent, though I had never thought of them. Insomnia, which had haunted me for years, was wiped out; bodily fatigue amounting to physical misery vanished; a strict and limited food diet was abandoned, and I found I was able to eat ordinary food at any time without suffering.
For these great blessings and for freedom I am sincerely and eternally grateful, yet this is nothing to the gratitude I feel that there was no sense of loss or separation when this dear one passed on. To know that she is God's perfect child, a spiritual idea, inseparable from her Father-Mother God; that God is Life, the Life of each and all; that God, the one Mind, holds all His children in perfect love and safety; to rejoice that we are journeying on together in this understanding of Truth, is precious beyond expression.
