For divine protection and guidance in the journey...
For divine protection and guidance in the journey through wilderness experiences during the past fifteen years I am sincerely grateful. From the depths of mental anguish I turned to Christian Science, and in the shelter of its healing balm my thought was very soon lifted above anguish, disappointment, resentment, and desire for revenge, to a truer concept of home and companionship. Although at that time I was not ready or willing to give credit to the power of Christian Science to heal physical ills, with improved thinking, brought about by prayerful study and application, I was healed in a very short time of periodic sick headaches, to which I had been in bondage for a number of years. This healing took place without specific work being done. A few months later I was healed of recurring bilious attacks, which became more severe each time, sometimes approaching jaundice. The sense of permanent freedom that came with this healing cannot be described. My thought goes out in humble gratitude to the practitioner who stood by so faithfully during this experience.
One problem presented itself as being beyond human solution, supposedly carrying with it the death penalty within a very few years. This was a slow healing, but through the consecrated and untiring work of the practitioner, and continued study on my part, I was enabled to make some progress in spiritual growth. I retraced my footsteps many times during this experience before the victory was won, but I can now say that I enjoy a better sense of health than I have had for many years.
I have been healed of rheumatism, which at times kept me from walking, of lead poisoning of the eye, and infection. After attending a noonday lecture some time ago I realized that I had received my freedom from a very painful condition of a knee which had attempted to deprive me of the privilege of attending the lecture. I am striving daily to overcome undesirable traits in disposition, and to be more and more worthy of the name "Christian Scientist."
