I wish to take this opportunity to express my unbounded...

I wish to take this opportunity to express my unbounded gratitude for the physical healings, divine protection, and spiritual awakening which I have gained through the study and application of Christian Science.

In a few days' time I was healed of a nervous disease that had baffled several doctors over a period of many years. Drugs, electric, sanatorium, and hospital treatments, mineral baths, change of environment, all had failed to give even a sense of relief. At the time I received this healing I caught a glimpse of the spiritual blessedness of Christian Science, and although it has been my sole physician in overcoming colds, severe headaches, a hemorrhoid, ptomaine poisoning, and many other physical ailments, I am more truly grateful for the spiritual understanding I have gained.

For one healing I experienced I am particularly grateful. Having cut my foot on a rusty wire while fishing and being on the ground without shoes or stockings, I thought of lockjaw, as a few years earlier I had seen a dear one pass on with this trouble after only a few hours' illness; and previous to that another in my family had passed on with the same difficulty. This worried me, although the foot did not hurt me. A few days later my foot manifested a condition which supposedly leads to lockjaw, and I was panic-stricken. In two more hours I was manifesting alarming symptoms of this dreaded disease. As my wife and I were the only ones interested in Christian Science in the home in which we were staying at the time, we could not decide what to do. I lay down while we were deciding, and my wife took up a copy of our textbook, Science and Health, and started reading silently. I fell asleep almost immediately and when I woke all fear was gone, as well as the manifestation. I was completely and beautifully healed. For healings of this kind it is quite impossible to find words to express one's gratitude.
