With a deep sense of appreciation for Christian Science, I wish to relate my first two healings.

Just prior to accepting this truth, I was nearing a nervous breakdown and had become so fearful that I seemed afraid to approach even a friend. I called upon a physician for complete examination, and when he reported that he could find nothing wrong, I grew more fearful, as I felt sure he was mistaken. Very soon thereafter I made a business trip lasting several weeks, which seemed very laborious, and after suffering great pain my lungs and side I returned home a very sick man.

As I had not yet accepted Christian Science, although I knew something of it, I asked a member of my family to call another physician. It was Christian Eve, and word was returned that he could not answer the call. With that information I grew worse. A call was made to still another physician, and a similar report was returned. On hearing this I grew desperate, as fear seemed to have a close grip upon my thought.
