Christian Science was first brought to my...
Christian Science was first brought to my home by my brother, whose wife had been healed of a very bad case of bladder and kidney trouble after being given up to die by several noted doctors. At that time I was suffering so badly from rheumatism in my right arm that I could not raise it to comb my hair. I was subject to serve sick headaches and also suffered untold misery from cramps every month. My brother brought me "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and told me that if I would read it all my troubles would be over. I did not doubt his word, but commenced reading; and I can truthfully say that before I was half through the book the pain had all left, and I could comb my hair myself. Oh, how happy I felt! For all the wonderful blessings God has bestowed upon me and mine, I am indeed grateful.
I have not taken medicine in all these twenty three years, and can truthfully say that I know Christian Science is the only real remedy for any ill, no matter in what form it may try to manifest itself. I have found it a great help in bringing up a large family.
I am very grateful to Christ Jesus, and pray each day to be shown more clearly the path he trod; to our Leader for her writings, marking the way so plainly for all mankind; for all the literature from The Christian Science Publishing Society, and for membership in The Mother Church.
