Christian Scientists heartily agree with the writer of the article under the Open Forum column as to "the importance of mind and thought."
Christian Science teaches that God is infinite Mind. In accord with the statement in the first chapter of Genesis that God made man after His image and after His likeness, Christian Science teaches that man is not something apart from his creator, but since he is image, he is inseparable from God, ever coexistent with God, for an image, or reflection, can never be separated from its source.
Christian Science is based on the inspired Word of the Bible. This religion accepts all the words and works of Christ Jesus, the Way-shower. Christian Science heals sickness, sin, and sorrow by the spiritually mental method he employed. It teaches that the followers of the Master are able to exercise the dominion he exercised over adverse circumstances in the degree that they overcome the carnal mind, which Paul tells us "is enmity against God," and are obedient to the Scriptural command, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus."
